Can I Keep My Old Email Address?

Many customers choose to keep using their existing email address while they gradually move to their new ProEmails email address.

Many customers choose to keep using their existing email address while they gradually move to their new ProEmails email address.

This gives you time to update family, friends, businesses and online services without feeling rushed.

One of the biggest concerns when changing email addresses is the fear of having to update everyone at once. Fortunately, that’s usually not necessary. Many customers continue using their previous email address while introducing their new ProEmails email address over time. This allows you to update banks, government services, online shopping accounts, subscriptions, social media accounts and personal contacts gradually rather than trying to do everything in one day. Keeping your previous email account active for a period of time also helps ensure you don’t miss important messages while people are learning your new email address. Eventually, as more people begin using your ProEmails email address, you may decide you no longer need your previous address. However, the timing is entirely up to you and depends on your personal circumstances. Our recommendation is simple: Move at a pace that feels comfortable.

Prefer Us to Handle the Migration?

Many customers choose to keep their existing email address active while they transition to their new ProEmails email address. If you’d prefer not to manage the technical aspects yourself, the ProEmails Email Migration Service provides a simple and secure way to help move your existing mailbox. Depending on your current email provider and technical requirements, our team can assist with transferring your existing emails, folders and contacts while you continue using your previous email account during the transition. Once you’re comfortable that everything has been successfully transferred and your new ProEmails email address is working as expected, you can decide whether to continue using your previous email account or close it.
